Actor turned politician Govinda was taken to a hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg on Tuesday, according to reports. His manager said that the actor is out of danger and is doing fine.

The Shiv Sena leader reportedly shot himself with his revolver and sustained a bullet injury to his leg while cleaning the licensed weapon in his Juhu residence.

The incident reportedly took place around 4:45 am in the morning.

As per reports, the actor released an audio clip where he said that the blessings of his fans, parents and guru saved him. He also thanked the doctors and the fans for their prayers.

The accident took place when the 60-year-old actor was getting ready to head to Kolkata early morning and was in the process of cleaning the licensed revolver when the weapon slipped from his hand and set off, the actor’s manager Shashi Sinha told the Times of India.

The bullet hit his leg, and he was rushed to Criticare hospital. Mumbai police also reached the hospital.

The actor’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, was in Kolkata at the time of the incident and left for Mumbai after she heard of the injury. Reportedly, Govinda is still at the hospital and his daughter Tina is taking care of him.

The police said that the actor has not filed an official complaint yet.
