Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been declared a terrorist by Pakistan as he recently made a remark about Pakistan province, Balochistan. The neighboring country has placed the Indian actor on the ‘4th Schedule’ of the anti-terrorism law and booked him under anti-terrorism law, multiple news portals reported.

The Bollywood superstar, during a recent international movie event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, made a controversial remark, igniting a political firestorm in Pakistan. During the event, the actor counted Balochistan as a separate entity from Pakistan.

“Right now, if you make a Hindi film and release it here (in Saudi Arabia), it will be a superhit. If you make a Tamil, Telugu, or Malayali film, it will do hundreds of crores in business because so many people from other countries have come here,” Salman Khan said and added, “There are people from Balochistan, there are people from Afghanistan, there are people from Pakistan… everyone is working here,” the actor said.

Amid discussions about whether it was just a slip of tongue, many claimed it was a deliberate political statement, inviting quick public attention from Pakistani authorities and public figures. Baloch leaders had also thanked Salman Khan for ‘recognising’ their identity.

The development has forced Pakistan to declare the actor a terrorist by adding Salman Khan’s name to the ‘4th Schedule’ of its 1997 Anti-Terrorism Act.
