As the country witnessed devastation over the Wayanad landslides, with the death toll surpassing 400, humanity has been the solace of the affected. Volunteered hearts are offering helping hands for the rescue operations to the catastrophic situation. Actor Prabhas has joined the list of celebrities who have extended their contribution to the Kerala Relief Fund.

On July 30, three landslides struck Wayanad in Kerala, which destroyed the lives of villagers. And each day, as rescue operations progress, the death toll has also been increasing, reflecting the scale of the disaster.

Extending their generous contributions, various celebrities have been involving themselves in the rescue measure through physical assistance and financial aid. Mollywood actor Mohanlal, on August 3, joined the battalions of TA Madras and visited the landslide-affected area. He has also donated Rs 3 crore to the relief fund.

Other actors including Mammootty, Suriya, Karthik, Jyotika, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahad Faasil, Tovino Thomas among others, have announced their contributions to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

With rescue measures reigning for over seven days, the search operations have reached its final stage. As per reports, more than 407 people have lost their lives. Reports also suggest that around 180 people are missing from Mundakkai and Chooralmala.

On the rescue front, a total of 1,174 personnel were deployed from various forces for rescue and search missions. Rescue workers have so far recovered nearly 150 bodies from Wayanad and 76 from Nilambur, and around 181 body parts, including 24 from Wayanad and 157 from Nilambur.

On the work front, Prabhas was last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD with which the actor stormed the box office. The actor will be next seen in his multilingual release Rajasaabh.
