Edited by Akhil Thomas

Bollywood actor Salman Khan reportedly received a threat to his life through social media. Due to this, the Mumbai Police examined Salman Khan’s protection on Tuesday, November 28. Notably, the star actor is currently having Y plus security.

India Today reported that an indirect threat was issued to Salman Khan on Facebook by an account claiming to be that of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The report also suggests that the Facebook post was directed at Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal, and it issued a warning to Salman Khan as well. “You consider Salman Khan a brother, but now it’s time for your ‘brother’ to come and save you. This message is also for Salman Khan– don’t be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you,” the Facebook post read. India Today, citing sources, also reported that the origin of the Facebook account has been traced to operations outside of India.

Earlier, Salman Khan’s security cover was increased from X to Y plus. Mumbai Police increased the security arrangements after Salman Khan received a threat from the Bishnoi gang. Notably, in August 2022, Mumbai Police issued an arms license to the actor after he applied for a weapon license for self-protection. This was against the backdrop of threat letters that Salman Khan received at that time. Earlier, there were reports that the actor was among the top targets of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently imprisoned in Tihar Jail.
