Maharashtra government increased the security level of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan to ‘Y-Plus’ after the death threats to the actor. The security upgradation order was released on Thursday, October 5, following a complaint indicating threats to life after the success of Mr Khan’s recent movies, Pathaan and Jawan.
The actor was previously facilitated with only two constables. The improved service advantages 11 security personnel in total. It includes 6 personal security officers in three shifts and five armed guards at the residence.
The copy of the order, as Times of India quotes, states that the actor confronted a threat warning recently. The order also requested the unit commanders to immediately provide a Y+ scale of security on payment basis. This is applicable while the actor ‘’visits/engagements and stay inside the jurisdiction to avoid any untoward incident’’.
The service is privately funded and the actor is solely responsible to take care of the cost and charges associated with the deployed security staffs.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan is also provided with a Y-Plus security as a result of the threats he faced from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Anupam Kher are also vested with different levels of security cover.
The actor had reportedly given a written complaint to the state government that he had been receiving death threat calls after the films Pathaan and Jawan. Both of the movies are industry hits crossing various records. Jawan, an Atlee directorial, is the highest earning Hindi domestic earner of all time.
