Bhumi Pednekar starrer Bhakshak“s teaser released on Thursday. In the upcoming Netflix India thriller, Bhumi Pednekar plays the role of an investigative journalist named Vaishali Singh. Inspired from true events, the movie tries to look into the sexual assault case of girls in the shelter home of Munawwarpur.
Helmed by Pulkit, the movie is jointly produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma. The film will be streaming on Netflix from February 9.
Aside from Bhumi Pednekar, the movie also stars Aditya Srivastava, Sai Tamhankar, and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles.
About the film Director Pulkit said in a statement: “Our aim was to shed light on the harsh realities of society and spark conversations that lead to meaningful change. I”m looking forward to more people joining this important dialogue.”
Bhakshak also marks Red Chillies Entertainment’s return to streaming space after the 2022 movie, Darlings.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, Bhumi Pednekar wrote: “Meet Vaishali Singh, a force to be reckoned with, as she battles against the powerful!”.
