India”s Enforcement Directorate (ED) is on a mission to crack down on financial irregularities, and no one is spared. The latest person to be caught in the net is Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Kapoor has been summoned by the ED in connection with the Mahadev online betting app case.
He will have to appear before the probe agency by October 10. The central investigating agency has already carried out searches in several cities, including Kolkata, Bhopal, and Mumbai, in connection with the case.
The Mahadev online betting app is a betting platform headquartered in the UAE. According to the case, large-scale money laundering operations have allegedly been carried out using the platform.
