Director Deeno Dennis, who is making his directorial debut with Mammootty’s Bazooka, has already made heads turn with the mind-blowing trailer. Writer-Director Deeno Dennis
Deeno Dennis is the son of veteran scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis, who is known for his films like Raktham, Paithirukam and Kudumbasametham and others. Even though Deeno started his cinematic journey as a scriptwriter, introducing the first ever game thriller in Malayalam cinema, his passion for the craft molded him as a director.

Initially, Deeno narrated the script to Mammootty as a writer. Being impressed by his narration, reportedly, Mammootty insisted Deeno to direct the film. Thus, Deeno started his directorial journey.
Deeno Dennis: The mastermind of Bazooka
Introducing the interesting genre of game thriller, director Deeno announced the film in March 2018. Describing the film as a “mass thriller,” the director constructed an intriguing story that revolves around a series of mysterious incidents that occurs in Kochi city. Mammootty plays a 39-year-old named Vinod Menon who is a travel buff. While Vinod starts his journey from Kochi, and on the way, he comes across several characters, and these encounters link him to the mysterious events.
The new age director has approached the film with a perfect blend of action, drama, romance, humor and adventure. The film, which was initially announced in 2018, went on floors in June 2022 due to several obstacles.
Key players of Deeno’s game thriller
While actor-director GVM, as ACP Benjamin Joshua, introduces the game between the good and the evil, Mammootty leads the game as a key player, Vinod Menon.

Bazooka
Written and directed by Deeno, Bazooka was jointly produced by Sarigama and Theater of Dreams. While the cinematography was handled by Nimish Ravi and Roby Varghese Raj, editing was done by Nishadh Yusuf and Praveen Prabhakar. While the film boasts a stellar cast, the tone of the game thriller was elevated by Saeed Abbas’s pulsating music.
