Dulquer Salmaan's ‘I’m Game’ Hits Theatres Today

I’m Game, the much-anticipated action thriller starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, has hit theatres worldwide today, September 3, marking the actor’s return to Malayalam cinema in a lead role after a three-year gap.

The film is being released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada as part of a wider pan-India theatrical rollout.

Directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame, I’m Game brings together Dulquer with Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Kathir and Vinay Forrt.

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Jom Varghese under Wayfarer Films, the film promises a mix of action, thriller elements, drama and fantasy.

The film had initially been scheduled for an August 20 release but was postponed to September 3 to facilitate a wider theatrical launch across multiple languages and markets.

The makers had described the decision as part of a “larger vision” for the film.

For Dulquer, I’m Game marks his return to Malayalam cinema after three years, making the film particularly significant for his home-state audience.

The actor is also backing the project as a producer, adding another layer to his involvement with the film.

The film has generated considerable curiosity ahead of its release, partly because its trailer deliberately keeps its central surprise under wraps.

Dulquer recently revealed that the trailer does not reveal the film’s actual core concept, with fantasy elements being kept hidden to preserve the theatrical experience.

Reports surrounding the film have also pointed towards a high-concept thriller involving a mysterious hand transplant, although the makers have been careful not to reveal too much about the story.

I’m Game reunites director Nahas Hidhayath with Antony Varghese after their collaboration in RDX, while Mysskin makes a prominent appearance in the Malayalam film.

The technical team includes music composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Jimshi Khalid and editor Chaman Chacko.

The film has also been positioned as a large-scale theatrical entertainer, with the production reportedly spanning 156 shooting days and more than 100 locations across South India.

Adding to the pre-release buzz, Dulquer also turned singer for the film with the track ‘Loser’, while Jakes Bejoy has composed the film’s music and background score.
