It’s time for actor Fawad Khan to make his way back to the Hindi film industry. The romcom titled Abir Gulaal featuring the fresh pairing of the Pakistani actor and Vaani Kapoor has commenced shooting in London.
The directorial venture of Aarti S Bagdi, set against the picturesque backdrop of London, has begun shooting on September 29. Produced by Vivek B Agrawal, Avantika Hari, and Rakesh Sippy, Abir Gulal explores the journey of two individuals who unintentionally help each other heal, with love blossoming among other unexpected consequences.

As the filming of the movie progresses in UK, the music of the film has been composed by a leading Bollywood music composer with six of the original tracks of the film set to be sung by Bollywood’s best music talent, as per the makers.
The makers also excited about Fawad’s massive global fan base, and thus anticipate that audiences will wholeheartedly embrace the film. As per the makers, the film will showcase Fawad in his most endearing role yet.
On the other hand, recently the Indian release of Fawad Khan’s Pakistani film The Legend Of Maula Jatt , was cancelled. The decision has come following the longstanding policy in Pakistan which has barred Indian films from being shown in the country since 2019.
Maharashtra politician Raj Thackeray also issued a stern warning against the release of the film in the state capital. Scheduled to be released on October 2, the film faced an opposition from the MNS chief as he said, “The cultural exchanges with Pakistan should not be tolerated.”

Originally released on 2022, the film is expected to become a huge hit and to do good business at the box office, since it is not available in any OTT platforms. The film was expected to release in India in 2022, during the time of its worldwide release.
However, several political parties objected to the release in India, and it never saw the light of day here. It features Fawad in the role of a rural man and focuses on his fight against tyranny and injustice. Apart from Mahira Khan, the movie also features Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and others as pivotal characters.
