Fawad and other artists from Pakistan stopped working on Indian projects after 2016. Fawad was last seen in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kapoor & Sons. Fawad’s return to Bollywood comes after the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition seeking a complete ban on collaborations between Indian citizens, companies, and associations with Pakistani artists, including actors, singers, musicians, lyricists, and technicians. Justices Sunil B Shukre and Firdosh P Pooniwalla ruled that the petition was a “retrograde step in promoting cultural harmony, unity, and peace” and found it to be without merit. The actor will be next seen in his upcoming series Barzakh.
