The Bigg Boss OTT participant reached his peak of fame after he won the reality show hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan in 2023. Mr Yadav became popular with his YouTube career in 2016.
Started with the YouTube channel ‘The Social Factory,’ and later he rebranded into Elvish Yadav, the content of his channel included fiction and conceptual short films. In 2019, he started another channel called ‘Elvish Yadav vlogs’ for doing vlogs and movie critiques.
In 2023, for gaming content, he launched ‘Elvish Yadav Gaming’ and became one of the top subscribed YouTubers in India.
Mr Yadav is also part of some other endeavours, including his clothing brands and a Non-Government Organisation (NGO). His initiative, ‘The Elvish Yadav Foundation,’ provides free meals and education to deserving people.
However, the issue that landed Mr Yadav and five other friends into trouble and led to their arrest marks one of several controversies in the recent past.
The arrest was made based on a complaint provided by an official of the animal rights group ‘People For Animals’, an NGO run by BJP MP Maneka Gandhi. The complainant accused the YouTuber of contacting Mr Yadav for a rave party and to arrange snakes.
However, a team of forest officers then conducted a raid and seized a 20 ml liquid substance, suspected venom. The police registered an FIR under various sections of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. Mr Yadav has dismissed the allegations, calling them fake and baseless.
In September 2023, he invited public condemnation after he addressed Arjun Bijlani as a woman. The apparent offensive comment by the YouTuber had caused uproar against him. He had also been caught slapping a man in a restaurant after an alleged verbal spat.
