Actor Mohanlal has been making heads turn with his back-to-back blockbuster records of L2: Empuraan and Thudarum. While the actor is basking in the success, his frequent collaborator and producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas has addressed his alleged involvement in Mohanlal’s script selections.

Antony Perumbavoor, the frequent collaborator of Mohanlal, has played a major role in the actor’s career. The duo had offered notable blockbusters with more than 30 films in a span of two decades. This made the fans wonder whether the producer had interfered in the actor’s choice of films.

In a recent interview, when asked whether he interferes with Mohanlal’s script selection, Antony acknowledges that there’s some truth to these claims. However, the actor also clarified that it happens only in projects funded by his production house.

While partially admitting the claims, the L2: Empuraan producer said, “It’s half true and half false.” Briefing his involvement in the process, Producer Antony said that he used to listen to stories of the films and take part in selection, which are being considered by the Aashirvad. The producer clarifies that, other than this, he has no involvement in any project discussions of the actor.

Antony worked with Mohanlal as his chauffeur before putting up his production house. His first production was the 2000 film Narasimham with the actor. He has since backed numerous films starring Mohanlal, including the famous Drishyam franchise, Lucifer franchise, and more.
