Malayalam movie industry never cease to amaze, and it consistently produces exceptional or surprising work that leaves audiences impressed. There have been many movies across the world with dead returns to haunt or be with the alive. With perfect writing and execution, Hello Mummy starring Sharafudheen, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sunny Hinduja, Jagadish, Bindu Panikkar, Johny Antony, Aju Varghese, Adhri Joe, Sruthy Suresh, Ganga Meera, Joemon Jyothir, and others, and directed by Vaishakh Elans is one such movie and another addition to the well-made fantasy-comedy-drama genre.

Hello Mummy starts as a comedy film, then turns into a suspense thriller in the second half, and the movie breaks all genres as it ends.

The success of the movie as an engaging one is the daring experiments the writer and the director take while the comedy and fantasy gets stagnant before the movie enters its last quarter. Till then, the movie has a normal fun-filled encounter of ordinary humans with a ghost, but the change in the story to more powerful and deep characters makes the movie more intriguing and riveting.

Sharafudheen, in an act like what the prime Dileep and Mohanlal used to do in comedy plus drama, had helmed the movie with composed comedic timing and decent acting.

With enough screen time and opportunity to perform, Aishwarya Lekshmi has also delivered a career defining performance after Mayaanadhi and Ponniayin Selvan.
