"It Begins Where It Ends": Samantha On Her Divorce From Naga Chaitanya

When actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu repurposed her wedding gown into a stylish black outfit, social media was stormed with the comments praising her style and the revenge attitude of the Citadel Honey Bunny actress.

Samantha, in her recent interview with Galatta India, opened up about the repurposed chapters of her life. She also opened up about the labels she got after her divorce and addressed how she owned them all instead of letting them hurt her.

Addressing her divorce, she said that a lot of shame and stigma is attached to a woman going through a divorce. One finds oneself backed into a corner, feeling like a failure as a result. “You are supposed to feel guilt and shame that you were once married, and now you are not. It can be really hard for families and girls who have gone through that,” she said.

Samantha expressed her thoughts behind repurposing her gown. Although it initially hurt, she described her emotions, stating that she decided to flip that and started to own the facts, saying, “I am separated; I am divorced. Things haven’t been a fairytale, but that does not mean I sit in a corner, cry about it, and never have the courage to live again.”
