Choreographer Jani Master was granted interim bail to attend the 70th National Film Award ceremony scheduled on October 8. Being arrested on a sexual misconduct allegation filed by a former colleague, the choreographer was granted with a 4 days bail.
Jani Master is set to receive the Best Choreography Award for his outstanding work in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam. On this account, the court granted him bail from October 6 to 10. Moreover, he is out on a condition to surrender in court by 10:30 am on October 10.

The Thiruchitrambalam choreographer was arrested on September 19, in Goa, following a complaint filed by a 21 year old women from Madhya Pradesh. He was brought to Hyderabad and produced before a city court, which remanded him to 14 day judicial custody. Based on the complaint, Jani Master has been charged under sections of rape and criminal intimidation- sections 376)2)(n), 506,323 of IPC
In the complaint, the women alleged that he assaulted her many times during their shoots in different cities, including Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The choreographer acquainted the woman after she appeared in a reality show. The woman said it had all begun in 2019 when Jani Master asked her to join his team as an assistant choreographer.
She also alleged that during her visit to Mumbai for a shoot with Jani Master and two other assistant choreographers, he allegedly sexually assaulted her in the hotel. Jani later threatened her with dire consequences and warned to ruin her career if she talked about the assault to anyone.
