Kajol Drops Photo Bash Featuring SRK As ‘Baazigar’ Clocks 30 Years

It’s been thirty years since the ever-hit Hindi language romantic thriller Baazigar hit theatre screens, and actress Kajol on Sunday dropped a set of adorable pictures from the movie set on her social media handles. Kajol acted in the movie in 1993, just an year after she made her debut through Bekhudi (1992). Baazigar also stars Bollywood’s king Khan – Shah Rukh Khan along with Shilpa Shetty, Siddharth, Dalip Tahil, and many more.

“#baazigar completes 30 years…”, Kajol wrote on her social media and expressed that even today, every song and dialogue from the movie brings huge smile to her face. She also described how it went meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. Kajol was just 17-years-old when the film was made.

“This set was a whole lot of firsts… The first time I worked with Saroj Ji, the first time I met @iamsrk. The first time I met @anumalikmusic … and me all of 17 when I started the film…”, she said captioning the photographs. “Abbas bhai and Mustan bhai actually treated me with all the indulgence of a favourite child. And how can I forget @therealxt, @iam_johnylever, @theshilpashetty…”, she added.

Baazigar was directed by Abbas-Mustan, produced by Venus Movies, and the soundtrack was composed by Anu Malik. The movie, about an young man seeking to avenge the fall of his family, was a commercial success in the box-office and given Shah Rukh Khan a breakthrough role in the industry as a sole lead.

The movie was released on November 12, 1993, coinciding with the festival of Diwali. The movie was named a cult film over the years due to its suspense, story, screenplay, soundtrack and spectacular performances by the cast. It also marked the first collaboration between Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan – a major success of the time and is still continues to be appreciated by a huge audience.

Kajol Devgan is one of the most successful of Indian actresses and is the recipient of numerous accolades including six Filmfare Awards. She was also honoured by the government of India in 2011 with Padma Shri.
