Meiyazhagan, the recent work of the acclaimed director Prem Kumar featuring actor Karthi and Aravind Swamy, received positive reviews and heartwarming reactions from the audience. And now finally, ending its theatrical run on a positive note, the family entertainer is gearing up for a digital release.
Despite positive reviews, Meiyazhagan failed to retain its screens due to the busy releases in Kollywood. Ending it’s big screen journey with a total box office collection of Rs. 51.26 crore, the film is about to start it’s OTT run.

With Netflix as the digital partner, the makers have announced the film’s OTT release. According to the official announcement made by Netflix, the film is set to stream from October 27.
Moreover, this Prem Kumar film, which had Tamil and Telugu theatrical versions, will have dubbed Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi versions on the digital platform. Notably, the film initially had a runtime of 2 hours and 57 minutes, but was trimmed by 18 minutes after a few days of it’s theatrical release.
But the streaming platform will not be offering the audience the uncut version of the film with a total run time of 2 hours and 38 minutes. So, the audience who watched the extended version in theaters will be the only viewers who watched the uncut version of the film.

Set in the rural backdrop, the film explores the dynamics of human relationship with the story revolving around the lead actors, Karthi and Aravind Swamy. Meiyazhagan was originally written as a book by Prem Kumar who said that he had envisioned actor Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan as his two leading men.
