The much-awaited Malayalam film Patriot, starring Mohanlal and Mammootty, has been postponed, disappointing fans who were eagerly waiting for its release.
The espionage thriller, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, was earlier scheduled to hit theatres on April 23, 2026.

However, the makers have now officially announced that the film will be released a week later, on May 1, 2026. Both Mohanlal and Mammootty shared the update on their social media handles, confirming the new release date.

In a statement shared by the team, the delay was attributed to efforts to ensure the highest quality for the film. The makers said that due to “unforeseen circumstances,” they decided to push the release slightly to deliver a better cinematic experience for audiences.
