Though the movie’s director, Venkat Prabhu, had recently clarified that the cricket legend does not have a cameo in the movie, there were rumours that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain will make a special appearance in the celebrated movie.

Fueling further speculations, the director had hinted that the Vijay starrer includes a cricket match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, during which images of prominent cricketers from both teams will be featured. Notably, Venkat Prabhu has confessed himself to be a die hard fan of CSK.

It is also noted that the Indian cricketer enjoy special bond with Tamil Nadu, especially in Chennai due to his association with CSK in IPL matches since its onset. Even the chief minister of the state had called the cricketer a Tamil Nadu adopted son.

The movie will be perhaps one of the final movies by Thalapathy Vijay before his active political foray. He had launched his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, and has declared that the party would contest the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2026.
