2011 World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni is a much-loved figure all over India. His presence often increases the decibel level across the stadium and his fan following has not decreased even though he is in the twilight zone of his professional career.
A testament to that was recently visible when a Dhoni devotee and Chennai Super Kings fan, Gaurav Kumar, took his yellow-colored cycle from Delhi to Ranchi to meet his idol. But his wish was fulfilled only after camping outside the former CSK’s captain farmhouse for a week after his elder brother took notice.

“I’m very happy because my dream has come true after a long time. Met Mahi Sir and his elder brother. They took me around their farmhouse and got his autograph (on the CSK shirt),” the fan said in a video.
Gaurav also mentioned that he couldn’t take any pictures or videos with the former India captain due to security reasons.
Meanwhile, it is likely that Dhoni will continue to ply his trade for CSK in the upcoming season. He is likely to be retained as an ‘uncapped player’ by the five-time champions, following a rule change in the IPL.
“A capped Indian player will become uncapped if he has, in the five calendar years preceding the year in which the relevant season is held, not played in the starting XI in international cricket and does not have a central contract with BCCI. This will be applicable for Indian players only,” the IPL said in a media release.
