Pranav Mohanlal’s Psychological Horror ‘Diés Iraé’ Hits Theatres Today
Pranav Mohanlal’s much-anticipated psychological mystery horror thriller, Diés Iraé, releases in theatres worldwide today, coinciding perfectly with the eerie spirit of Halloween.
Directed and written by Rahul Sadasivan, known for his acclaimed horror work Bramayugam, the film marks Pranav Mohanlal’s debut in the horror genre.
The title Diés Iraé, which translates from Latin as “The Day of Wrath”, references a medieval hymn associated with Judgment Day — a fitting allusion for what promises to be a haunting and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
Produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, Diés Iraé was filmed over a 40-day intense schedule between March and April 2025.

The movie reunites Rahul Sadasivan with his trusted technical team from Bramayugam, ensuring his signature blend of atmosphere, visual poetry, and psychological dread is well intact.
In earlier interviews, director Rahul described Diés Iraé as a film that “explores a diametrically opposite emotional spectrum compared to my previous works, connecting deeply with the new generation.”
The film features cinematography by Shehnad Jalal, known for his striking visual compositions, editing by Shafique Mohammed Ali, and art direction by Jothish Shankar, who helped recreate haunting and atmospheric settings.
The sound design by Jayadevan Chakkadath and sound mixing by M. R. Rajakrishnan further amplify the film’s psychological intensity. Christo Xavier has composed the music, including the chilling track “The Day of Wrath”, which sets the tone for the film’s foreboding narrative.
Diés Iraé has been certified ‘A’ (Adults Only) by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to its graphic imagery and intense horror sequences, indicating that Rahul Sadasivan hasn’t shied away from pushing boundaries in creating an authentic, unsettling experience.
The movie is being distributed in Kerala through th!nk Studios and E4 Entertainments, while Berkshire DreamHouse manages overseas distribution. It will be released in major international markets, including the Middle East, North America, and Europe.
