Dies Irae Trailer: Pranav Mohanlal Haunted By Unseen Forces In Rahul Sadasivan’s Latest Horror Thriller

The trailer of the much-awaited Malayalam horror thriller, Dies Iraeis out today, and it promises a truly chilling ride. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who earlier gave us Bhoothakaalam (2022) and Bramayugam (2024), the film once again dives deep into supernatural terror.

The two-minute trailer begins with the line Based on some true events, setting the mood right away. Actor Pranav Mohanlal, making his horror debut, plays a man living in an isolated house where strange, terrifying things begin to unfold.

From invisible forces dragging him by the collar to doors slamming, lights bursting, and an unseen power pulling him down a staircase, the visuals are designed to disturb and scare.

There are hints of a family curse, with Pranav’s character asking, “Would anyone believe me if I say all of these?” — pointing to his growing psychological fear and loneliness. The trailer ends on a suspenseful note, with his reflection in the mirror looking eerily altered.

Backed by the same creative team behind Bramayugam, cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, editor Shafique Mohamed Ali, production designer Jothish Shankar, and composer Christo Xavier, the film looks visually striking and heavy on atmosphere.

Dies Irae, which means Day of Wrath in Latin, releases on October 31, 2025, just in time for Halloween.
