The dynamic duo, actor Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, kickstarted their next horror comedy, titled Bhooth Bangla, today. Commemorating the start of an exciting journey, the Sarfira actor made a special announcement today.
Yes, the release date of the upcoming horror thriller is here. As the duo, reuniting after years, seems to be cooking something new this time, the anticipated film will be released in theatres on April 2, 2026. Since the makers are taking their time to craft their horrific masterpiece, the audiences are requested to wait for a year and more to get thrilled in theatres.
Even though the plot of the horror thriller is yet to be unveiled, it does have something to do with cats. In the posters released so far, Akshay’s character seems to hint at the cat persona. It remains to be seen how this will be pivotal in the plot of the film.

The poster features the Singham Again actor sitting over a gate pier, holding a lantern in his hand. Behind him we see a glimpse of a haunted house. Akshay is seen in a white shirt with a blue vest and a red tie.
Announcing the release date, Akshay Kumar expressed his excitement and wrote, “Beyond excited to be on set with my favourite Priyadarshan as we begin the shoot of our horror comedy Bhooth Bangla today. Yeh darr aur hasi ka double dose aapke liye ready hoga 2nd April, 2026 ko! Tab tak ke liye aapke best wishes chahiye 🙏”
