Renowned Malayalam Actor Meena Ganesh Dies At 81 (image:facebook.com/vssivakumr)

Palakkad, Kerala: Veteran Malayalam actor Meena Ganesh died at her residence in Ottapalam, Palakkad on Thursday, December 19. She was 81. She has been admitted to the hospital for last few days after suffering a stroke a few days ago, onmanorama reports. She is the wife of wife of popular theatre artist and film actor late AN Ganesh.

Began her career as a theatre artist, Meena Ganesh acted in nearly 25 television serials and 105 films.  She is well remembered for her roles in Kalabhavan Mani starrer ‘Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum’, and ‘Karumadikuttan’ and Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer ‘Nandanam’.

Her debut in movies was through PA Backer’s 1976 film Manimuzhakkam. Through essaying supporting roles, she was a major presence in the movies during 1990s and early 2000s.

Her funeral will take place at around 4 PM at Santhitheeram in Shoranur. She is survived by son, Manoj Ganesh, and daughter, Sangeetha.
