The news about explicit video leaks claiming to be of Pakistani celebrities has not stopped. In a latest development prominent Pakistani news anchor Mona Alam has filed a police complaint with Islamabad’s Cyber Crime Wing following the circulation of a fake explicit video claiming to feature her. The anchor for Hum News called out what she described as a malicious campaign against her, sharing evidence on social media to refute the false allegations and announcing legal action against the perpetrators.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Alam wrote:
“This woman’s objectionable video is being spread by petty haters on social media, claiming it’s me. She’s a proven criminal herself & hence posting her real screen grab for clarity. My character is spotless & all campaigners against it will face the MUSIC!”
Accompanying her statement was an image of her complaint addressed to the Cyber Crime Wing in Islamabad, urging action under Pakistan’s cyber laws. Alam highlighted that the explicit video was being widely circulated on WhatsApp and other platforms, even sent to senior journalists, as part of a targeted defamation campaign.

Her complaint read:
“Some individuals are found uploading highly intimidating and explicit content/comments on social media, claiming there is an explicit video of me leaked online. It is requested that legal action as per cyber laws u/s 21 of PECA, 16, 24 and 509 PPC be initiated.”

The incident adds to a worrying pattern of alleged video leaks targeting Pakistani social media influencers. This month alone, prominent figures such as Mathira Khan, Kanwal Aftab, Minahil Malik, and Imsha Rehman have been embroiled in similar controversies. While some have issued statements to clarify the allegations, others have suggested that many of these videos might be AI-generated, further complicating the issue of verifying authenticity.
