The first look of Akshay Kumar“s next movie, Sarfira is out. Sarfira is the remake of the National Award-winning Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, in which Suriya appears in the lead role.

Sudha Kongara, who helmed the movie in the original, is the director of the Hindi version as well. The film also features Paresh Rawal, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas in significant roles.

Actor announces the new project in his Instagram handle on Tuesday. Sharing the first look video, Akshay Kumar wrote: “Dream so Big, they call you Crazy!” Suriya has also shared the post on Instagram. “Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024.#MaarUdi,” the caption adds.

“An incredible story, set in the world of startups and aviation, Sarfira is all set to inspire the common man to dream big and to chase your dreams even if the world calls you crazy,” the movie synopsis read.

The screen play of the movie is written by Sudha Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi, and dialogues by Pooja Tolani. Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Suriya and Jyotika and Vikram Malhotra, under the banners of Cape of Good Films, 2D Entertainment and Abundantia Entertainment respectively. The music will be scored by GV Prakash Kumar.

At the 68th National Film Awards, the Amazon Original Movie, Soorarai Pottru bagged five top honours including Best Feature Film, Best Actor (Suriya), Best Actress (Aparna Balamurali), Best Screenplay (Sudha Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi)  and Best Background Score (GV Prakash Kumar).
