Actress Sophie Turner filed a lawsuit against ex-husband and Pop star Joe Jonas asking to return the passports of their two daughters. The couple has resorted to divorce after four years of their marriage.
The Game of Thrones star has filed petition in federal court in New York. The petition comes under an international treaty that focuses on return of a child taken from their country of “habitual residence”.
The petition calls for the “immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained”. Ms. Turner”s legal team asserted the “wrongful retention” of the children started from September 20.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas has decided to relocate to England in April and raise tgeir children there. They have sold their Miami house recently with aim to relocate. As Ms. Turner was busy with her schedule for shooting in England for her upcoming television series “Joan”, the parents decided the children will go with Mr. Jonas during his tour with his band Jonas Brothers along with a nanny. Ms. Turner was to return to New York by September 14 to collect their children, but their divorce “happened very suddenly”.
Ms. Turner filed the Petition against Mr. Jonas following their cordial meeting on September 17, during which she asked for the children”s passport for her to take them back to England. But according to Sophie Turner, Mr. Jonas refused to handover the passports. The two daughters, 3 year old Willa and a 14 month old, were born in US and have dual US and British citizenship.

Taking to social media, both the celebrities wrote that, “Statement from the two of us: “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage”.
They concluded their note with asking the public to respect their whish for privacy for them and their children.
