
Soubin Shahir–Navya Nair Starrer ‘Pathirathri’ Hits Theatres Today
Acclaimed filmmaker Ratheena, who impressed audiences with her directorial debut Puzhu, returns with her second feature, Pathirathri, a crime investigation thriller that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Produced by Dr K. V. Abdul Nasser and Aashiya Nasser under the banner of Benzy Productions, the film hit theatres across Kerala today, October 17, with distribution handled by Dream Big Films.
Pathirathri unfolds against the eerie stillness of midnight, when two police officers stumble upon something unusual—an encounter that sets off a chain of events with far-reaching consequences.
As the mystery deepens, their careers, relationships, and even lives spiral into peril, drawing viewers into a world of suspense, emotion, and moral ambiguity.

The film stars Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in lead roles as officers Jhansi and Hareesh, respectively. Notably, this marks Navya Nair’s first-ever portrayal of a police officer.
The cast also features Sunny Wayne, Ann Augustine, Athmiya Rajan, Sabareesh Varma, Harisree Ashokan, Achyuth Kumar, Indrans, and Thejas, each adding depth and intensity to the narrative.
Written by Shaji Maarad, Pathirathri is brought to life through the lens of Shehnad Jalal, whose cinematography enhances the film’s dark, moody atmosphere.
The gripping background score and songs are composed by Jakes Bejoy, known for his chart-topping works in Jagadalada and Loka. Sreejith Sarang handles the editing, ensuring the film maintains its taut pacing and seamless storytelling.

Ratheena, who began her film journey in 2010 as an assistant to noted director Revathi, has built her career across multiple facets of cinema—from television serials like Kumkumapoovu to assisting in Priyadarshan’s productions under Seven Arts.
After honing her craft behind the scenes, she made a powerful debut with Puzhu, starring Mammootty, which was widely acclaimed for its bold narrative and psychological depth. She also contributed as an executive producer to the films Uyare and Janaki Jaane.
