Actor-director Basil Joseph, who is basking in the success of his recently released investigation thriller Pravinkoodu Shappu, revealed his plans to switch back to directing. His interesting updates about his upcoming directorial projects left fans in surprise and curiosity.

Known for his much-celebrated superhero film Minnal Murali, Basil, is now planning to head back to direction after a long break. The actor, who got busy with his acting schedules and commitments, is planning to give a directorial comeback with Malayalam industry’s superstars on board.

Yes, while promoting his recent release Pravinkoodu Shappu, the Sookshmadharshini actor revealed that he has been working on multiple scripts for quite some time now, and one of them is almost finished.

He revealed that he is planning to take a break from acting to focus on filmmaking once things fall into place. Basil also hinted at the possibilities of working with both Mammootty and Mohanlal in his upcoming directorial ventures.

According to the actor-filmmaker, all his upcoming projects are to be made on a big canvas with a big cast and crew and need extensive pre-production. However, kickstarting these films also depends upon many factors.

The multi-faceted talent is currently on a high with the massive success of his latest outing, Sookshmadarshini. The movie, which had its OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar, highly impressed both the audiences and critics. Pravinkoodu Shappu, another recently released project starring Basil, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod Jose among others has opened to mixed reviews.

The actor is now looking forward to his upcoming film Ponman, directed by Jyotish Shankar, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 30. Recently, the makers also unveiled the first look poster of the film, and the song Bridathi, had garnered a lot of attention from the audience. Ponman is based on the novel Nalanch Kachhakkar by G. R. Indugopan.
