As Spotify Wrapped 2023 is finally out, singer Arijit Singh, for a third successive terms secured the most streamed artists of the year and King and Saurabh Lokahnde’s “Maan Meri Jaan” (over 275 million plays) emerged as the most-streamed song in the country. On Wednesday, Spotify unveiled it”s celebrated Wrapped campaign, citing top artists, songs, and albums that held impacts over the listening habits of over 574 million global audience this year.
Following Arijit Singh, singer-music composers Pritam, Anirudh Ravichander, AR Rahman, and singer Shreya Ghoshal took the succeeding spots. Alongside singers, lyricists and composers Amitabh Bhattacharya, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan and Vishal-Shekhar also secured spot in the top 10. Late Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala is the only artist outside of movie industry to figure in the chart.
In India”s most streamed category, “Kahani Suno 2.0” by Kaifi Khalil, “Kesariya” (from ‘Brahmastra’) by Pritam, Arijit Singh, Amitabh Bhattacharya, and “Malang Sajna” by Sachet Tandon, Parampara Tandon, Kumaar secured successive spots after “Maan Meri Jaan”.
In the most streamed album in the country, “Kabir Singh” reclaimed the first position. The second position is attained by Arijit Singh”s Ultimate Love Songs, whereas “Moosetape” by Sidhu Moose Wala constituted the third. “Still Rollin’ by Shub, “Champagne Talk” by King, and “Brahmastra” by Pritam found its place in fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively.
The sole international artist to gain attention on Spotify Wrapped 2023’s most streamed is The Weeknd, for his 2016 album Starboy. Besides, the list also presents Arijit Singh in spot 12 among the most streamed artists globally
