Thug Life, title of Kamal Haasan“s new movie has been released on the eve of actor”s 69th birthday. The movie celebrates the reunion of Ulaganayagan with master storyteller Mani Ratnam after thirty six years. The movie was tentatively titled as #KH234. Before unveiling the title announcement video, makers released an epic first look poster of Mr Haasan from the movie as well.

In the announcement video, Mr Haasan is seen in tattered clothes, engages in a fighting sequence with a gang of opponents. A short glimpse of meticulously designed stunt sequences with the accompaniment of enthralling background score is captured in the 2:55 minute video. He is also seen breaking fourth wall, and communicates to viewers. In the address, the characters reveals his name and his background. “My name is Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar, from Kayalpattinam,” the monologue opens and says he is “a criminal, a thug and a yakuza.”

Within a few hours of release, the video is creating buzz on social media.

Thug Life is noticeable for the stellar star cast including Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Abhirami, and Nasser. It is for the first time Mr Salmaan is sharing screen space with Mr Haasan and also is his second outing with Mr Ratnam after OK Kanmani.

The music for the movie is scored by AR Rahman. Thug Life is jointly produced by Raaj Kamal International Films, Madras Talkies, Red Giant Movies, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananthi.
