The first look poster of Soothravakyam, an upcoming Malayalam family comedy-drama, has been released, and it’s already at the centre of attention for the controversy surrounding two of its lead stars.

Actors Vincy Aloshious and Shine Tom Chacko, who play prominent roles in the film, took to social media to unveil the poster.

However, the release comes just days after Vincy publicly shared a disturbing experience on a film set, alleging that a co-star was under the influence of drugs during shooting.

Though she initially did not name the actor, it was later confirmed through a formal complaint filed with the Film Chamber and the Cinema ICC that the actor in question was Shine Tom Chacko.

Soothravakyam is directed by debutant Eugien Jos Chirammel and features Vincy Aloshious, Shine Tom Chacko, and Deepak Parambol in lead roles. Scripted by Rejin S Babu and produced by Srikanth Kandragula under the Cinema Bandi banner.

In a heartfelt note shared alongside the poster, producer Srikanth Kandragula expressed his deep connection to Malayalam cinema despite not being a native of Kerala. he wrote:

“Though I wasn’t born or raised in Kerala, I’ve always been in love with Malayalam cinema—its layered storytelling, deep emotional resonance, and incredible talent pool. Being a part of this project is a privilege.”

Srikanth also addressed the controversy indirectly, stating:

“Unfortunately, recent news about our film has raised some concerns. As a producer, I want to assure everyone that my commitment to this film and its team remains unwavering. I urge audiences to focus on the art, the story, and the emotions rather than personal matters.”

He went on to add, “We’ve poured our heart and soul into this film. If it touches even a few hearts, we will feel honoured.”

The controversy began when Vincy Aloshious posted a video on Monday about her unpleasant on-set experience, where she stated her strong resolve not to work with actors who abuse substances.

The video quickly went viral, leading to widespread speculation about the identity of the accused co-star. After much online chatter, her official complaint confirmed that the actor she was referring to was Shine Tom Chacko, a well-known name in the Malayalam film industry.

The situation escalated further when an unrelated video of Shine allegedly attempting to leave a hotel under mysterious circumstances also went viral, adding fuel to public curiosity and concern.

Later, she withdrew the complaint she had previously filed against her Soothravakyam co-star Shine Tom Chacko, citing a deep sense of betrayal and broken trust.
