After Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious‘s shared her unsettling experience with a co-star who was allegedly on drugs while on set, she has now filed a complaint against actor Shine Tom Chacko with the Film Chamber and the Cinema ICC.
The video of the actress sharing her unpleasant experience and her conviction not to work with actors using drugs sparked debate on social media, with speculations over the identity of the unnamed co-star rising. While this became the subject of discussion, the Vincy’s complaint revealed that the alleged co-star is the prominent Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko.

In her complaint, the actress, known for Jana Gana Mana, Saudi Vellakka, and Pazhanjan Pranayam, stated that Shine misbehaved on the sets of the film Sutravakyam.
Saji Nanthiyat, the general secretary of the Film Chamber, told the media that strong action will be taken on the complaint.
The Film Chamber also scheduled an emergency meeting on Monday to investigate the complaint. Earlier, the AMMA organization had come out in support of the actress. AMMA office-bearer Jayan Cherthala said that strong action will be taken against Shine.
The Excise Department is expected to seek an explanation from Vincy regarding her allegations, especially since Shine’s name had earlier surfaced in connection with a hybrid drug case in Alappuzha. Although the actor had denied the allegations, the new complaint has once again brought him under the limelight.
As these accusations of the actress have been raising concerns, actor Shine has found himself in another drug raid controversy. As per the reports, the Good Bad Ugly actor and his two associates reportedly fled a hotel room in the city during a surprise drug raid on April 16. The anti-narcotics squad DANSAF carried out the raid at around 11 PM, targeting a popular hotel where the actor was staying.
Reports further state that actor Shine and his companions escaped from the third-floor room just as the inspection began. Although no illegal substances were recovered from the premises, officials suspect that the actor might have received prior warning about the raid.
In January 2015, Shine, along with four women, was arrested for allegedly possessing narcotics. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him, but he was acquitted of all charges in 2025.

At the 67th operational year of KCYM Ernakulam-Angamaly Major Archdiocese, held at Pallippuram Church in Kerala, Vincy said, “If I am aware that someone is using drugs, I will not act in any film with them.” While her decisions received criticism, the Rekha actress shared a video regarding her distressing experience on a film set.
Vincy claimed that a white substance was spilling from the actor’s mouth, which confirmed her suspicion about him allegedly using drugs. “It’s one thing to use drugs in your personal life, but when it affects your professional environment, it becomes unacceptable,” she remarked.
Following the public outcry, several organisations, including AMMA, FEFKA, and the Film Chamber, urged her to file a formal complaint. The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) also extended their support and demanded that the production team be questioned on whether there was an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on set, as required.
While the actress had not named anyone in her video, she proceeded to name him in her formal complaint.
