Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Ex-Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reported to be on board as the Air India flight crashed near the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. According to the passenger document list, “Vijay Ramniklal Rupani” was the 12th passenger in the list, and he was booked under Business class category.

An Air India flight bound to London crashed in the Meghani Nagar area near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The incident occurred around 1:00-2:00 pm. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operating as Flight AI171 to London Gatwick crashed shortly after taking off from the airport.

There were 242 passengers, including two pilots and ten cabin crew, on board. Among them, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portugese nationals. Flight operation at Ahmedabad airport was temporarily suspended after plane crash.
