Andhra Pradesh: In a chilling case that echoes the recent murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, a 32-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was found dead just weeks after his wedding, with his wife and mother-in-law now arrested in connection with the case.

The deceased, Tejeshwar, a land surveyor and dance teacher from Gadwal district, had married Ishwarya from Kurnool district on May 18. The wedding had originally been scheduled for February but was postponed after Ishwarya suddenly left her home five days before the ceremony, without informing anyone. She later told Tejeshwar that she had gone to a friend’s house because her mother couldn’t afford the dowry.

Tejeshwar was reported missing on June 17, and his body was found in a canal in the Panyam area of Nandyal district a few days later. A missing persons case had been filed by his family with the Gadwal police, who soon launched an investigation.

According to media reports, Tejeshwar’s family had warned him against marrying Ishwarya, suspecting her of being involved in an extramarital relationship. Despite their concerns, he went ahead with the wedding. Following his disappearance and subsequent death, the family alleged that Ishwarya, along with her mother Sujatha, conspired to murder him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ishwarya was allegedly in a relationship with another man, a bank employee based in Kurnool. Police said she had remained in contact with him even after her marriage to Tejeshwar. Based on the evidence gathered, both Ishwarya and her mother have been arrested.

The case bears similarities to the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, whose mutilated body was discovered in a gorge near Sohra (Cherrapunji), Meghalaya, on June 2. Raja was on his honeymoon with his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, who, along with her alleged accomplice Raj Kushwaha, is in judicial custody for 13 days. Sonam has been accused of plotting and executing the murder of her husband.
