Andhra Pradesh: Bus Falls Into Gorge, At Least 9 Killed, Several Trapped
At least 10 people were killed and several others injured after a private bus carrying 35 passengers overturned and fell into a gorge in Andhra Pradesh’s Chinturu and Bhadrachalam early today morning.
The incident happened around 5.30 am near Tulasipakalu village, as the bus heading to Annavaram from Chittoor district, veered off the road and plunged into the valley, causing the accident. The tourists were returning after visiting the Bhadrachalam temple.

Rescue operations are still underway, and authorities fear the death toll may rise further as some injured are in critical condition. Chinturu police rushed to the spot. Along with police, HDRF officials and the villagers are actively carrying out rescue and relief operations.
The injured have been shifted to Chinturu Area Hospital and other nearby medical facilities. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed profound shock and anguish over the accident, terming the loss of lives “extremely painful”
He said he directed the senior officials to immediately reach the spot and oversee relief measures, and instructed all departments to work in coordination and ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured.
