Assam Congress Chief Gaurav Gogoi Alleges Lapses In Election Security, Claims 'Theft Attempt' By BJP

Dispur, Assam: President of the Assam Congress Gaurav Gogoi has alleged that the BJP workers were seen inside strong rooms in  remote parts of the state. The Congress leader alleged that the BJP want to win the election by theft while slamming the Election Commission for the lapses in the poll security.

“What is the ECI and its security force doing?… It is clear that BJP can’t win on its own and it just wants to save itself through theft,” the Congress leader said, ANI quoted.

“We have to ensure all efforts by BJP to steal mandate of people of the state has to be resisted with all might and full force. We have already raised several complaints in the past, none of which have been acted upon but thanks to the efforts made by the Congress party, we have been able to block many efforts of the BJP workers. We are telling our workers to remain vigilant…” news agency PTI quoted the Congress president.

Regarding the exit polls, which predicted a return for the ruling BJP, the Congress leader said they are now just a game of TRP. “People will shift from the BJP because they are already calling and saying they don’t want to work with Himanta Biswa Sarma… Shift has already happened in the BJP and its political allies; they have shifted to the Congress,” Gogoi added in a video shared by news agency ANI.
