Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was booked in an attempt to murder case on Friday. The Nagarampalem police of Guntur district filed the case on Friday following a complaint by Undi MLA K Raghurama Krishnam Raju (RRR) of the TDP. Raju, previously associated with the YSRCP, represented Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency.
Aside from Jagan Mohan Reddy, former CID chief PV Sunil Kumar and former Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu are among the five people who have been booked in the case. The FIR has been registered under sections 120 b, 166, 167, 197, 307, 326, 465, and 506 r/w of IPC.

TDP MLA, in his complaint, alleged that he was arrested in 2021 by Andhra Pradesh CID personnel in Hyderabad. After his arrest, Raju claimed that he was not produced before the local magistrate, and without obtaining a transit arrest warrant, CID personnel shifted him to the agency’s office in Guntur.
During his detention, PV Sunil Kumar, along with PSR Anjaneyulu and other officers, beaten him with a rubber belt and lathi, MLA alleges. He states that he was not allowed to take medication for heart-related ailment though the officers knew he had undergone bypass heart surgery.

He also added that the police officer attempted to kill him, and his phone was taken away. He was beaten until he revealed its password. Raju said he was then taken to a government hospital, where the MLA claims the doctor issued fake medical certificates under police influence.
Besides, Raju also said that former CID chief threatened to kill him if he criticised the then Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Further investigation is progressing.
