BJP Picked Wrong Person To Bully’ Mahua Moitra Amid Bribery Charge
Trinamool Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra in an exclusive interview with India Today on Friday said that the BJP has chosen the wrong person to bully. “I have given up everything in my life to sit here and some little Jharkhandi pitbull and some acrimonious ex-personal relationship is not going to be the end of me,” she said.
She added that she will continue to fight and will see what happens in 2024. In the interview, Mahua Moitra spoke about the cash-for-query allegation levelled against her by BJP leader Nishikant Dubey and refuted all the charges.
By dismissing all the charges, Mahua said that anyone can make allegations but the onus is to prove that allegation. She also added that she has seen the affidavit submitted to the Parliament Ethics Committee and there has been no mention of Rs 2 crore which was alleged to be given to her. She then challenged the complainer to provide the date and documentary evidence of the cash given.
She also said that her Parliament login and Password was given to Darshan Hiranandani as there is no rule to who can have the login and who cannot. The login and password remain with the team.
“But then an OTP comes and it comes to my phone only. It does not go to Darshan”s phone. Only when I provide the OTP, the questions are submitted,” Mahua Moitra said.
She also dismissed the charge that Darshan Hiranandani logged in from Dubai. She said that NIC login has no rules as to who can have the login or not. She dismissed the allegation that she has given it to a foreign entity and said that Darshan is a friend of her and an Indian citizen.
She then added that she too had logged in from Switzerland. Her sister’s child too logged in from Cambridge when she was on a vacation. “If NIC’s question and answer portal is very protected, then why don’t you block the IP addresses from entering it?” she asked.
On the allegation of taking cash and gifts from Mahua Moitra from Darshan, Mahua Moitra asked whether there is any evidence in support. She then said that she has only received few gifts from him which includes a scarf, lipsticks and few make up items which he bought form Dubai’s airport duty-free.
While, BJP MP Nishikant reacted to the interview and said Mahua Moitra insulted the entire Jharkhand and Bihar by calling him Pitbull. This comment came in response with Mahua Moitra referring him as ‘Jharkhandi pitbull’.
