Odisha: Father Kills Man For Attempting To Rape His 10-Year-Old Daughter
In a disturbing case, a father in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district killed a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault his 10-year-old daughter. The incident unfolded on October 19, 2025, in the village of Mohanpasi under the jurisdiction of Parjang police station.
The father, 45-year-old Rupa Pinga had taken his daughter to bathe in a village pond. After bath, the girl wandered a short distance away, and it was during this time that a 27-year-old Karunakar Behera, a local youth with a history of criminal behavior, reportedly followed her and attempted to rape her, TellyChakkar reported citing police source.

When the father heard the crying sound of his daughter, Rupa Pinga rushed to the spot and confronted the attacker. The father initially assaulted Behera with a stick.

When the harasser tried to escape by jumping into a nearby drainage canal, Pinga followed him and struck the assailant’s head with a stone, in a fit of rage, leading to the instant death of the attacker.
