Five School Teachers Gangrape 13-Year-Old Girl In Odisha, Arrested
Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Odisha police on Saturday, February 21, arrested five teachers from a private English media school for allegedly gang rapping a 13-year-old girl student for a prolonged period. The incident occurred in Kendrapara district in Olver village under Rajkanika police station jurisdiction. The minor girl was allegedly subjected to physical abuse for a prolonged period.
Notably, the arrested persons included a woman teacher who abetted the crime by trying to cover up the incident. The accused persons were on the payroll of the school, according to the police.

After the complaint was lodged on February 18, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) conducted a 48-hour-long investigation. Finding the veracity of the allegation, the CWC referred the sensitive case to the police for coercive legal action, while also directing the District Education Officer to carry out separate departmental investigations.
“The School and Mass Education Department authorities are also instructed to take appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence of sexual abuse of students,” United News of India quoted Swagatika Patra, a CWC member.
