
'GST Saving Festival From Tomorrow': PM Modi Says Reforms Brings Happiness To Every Family
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday, September 21, emphasising the benefits of the Goods and Service Tax (GST) cut undertaken by the ruling government. Stating that the next gen GST reforms are being implemented from tomorrow, the Prime Minister said it is like a ‘GST saving festival’.
He said the tax reform would bring happiness to every family, adding that it will also accelerate India’s growth story. “You will be able to buy your favorite items with ease from tomorrow,” the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister then pointed out that there will be primarily be only 5 per cent and 18 per cent tax slabs for now, suggesting that the goods used in everyday life will become more affordable. “Decisions are made for raising I-T exemption limit,” he added.
The Prime Minister further said that the country is now on the way to the self-reliance, urging people to manufacture items locally. ‘Mantra of Swadeshi gave strength to freedom movement, Swadeshi will also strengthen our quest for prosperity, PM Modi said, adding that every house and shop should be swadeshi.

The Prime Minister then urged citizens to take pride in saying it is made in India.
