
GST Cut Impact: What Is Cheaper And Costlier From Tomorrow, September 22?
New Delhi: With the government’s revised Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is to come into effect from September 22, tomorrow, there have been significant changes in the prices and affordability of several favorite products for the people.
The customers in the country will experience a mixed change, with prices of some everyday essentials and services coming down while some other products will be more expensive. The leisure, luxury, and certain lifestyle-related items have become more expensive as per the revised GST.

The Department of Consumer Affairs has issued a revised advisory to help companies implement GST changes. Notably, Products made before September 22 may carry both the old and revised MRPs, potentially causing overcharging. Therefore, it is important for the customers to properly check the product MRPs and ensure fairness.
Retailers in Indian markets are monitoring how customer demand evolves in the coming weeks, expecting both high purchases of some items while low demand for others.

What Is Cheaper And Expensive After GST Cut From September 22?
According to reports, essential daily items such as packaged foods, edible oils, and household cleaning products are going to be cheaper. Services such as public transport services, such as app-based auto and cab rides within the city, prices of small electronic accessories like chargers, earphones, and USB cables and medicines for common ailments and select medical devices may also get cheaper.
However, there are many products and services which are going to be more expensive after the GST reforms. Restaurant dining, especially at air-conditioned and premium outlets, and consumer durables, including, washing machines, and air-conditioners will be costlier now.
Apart from this, beauty and grooming services at salons and spas, and premium smartphones and imported gadgets will also be more expensive under the new GST structure. Other products, such as furniture, home appliances, among others, would also be pricey.
