Himachal Woman Instructs Boycott Of Kashmiri Traders; Coerces Them To Chant 'Jai Shri Ram'
Himachal Pradesh: A video surfaced from Himachal Pradesh where the wife of a local sarpanch instructed villagers to boycott the business of two Kashmiri men and coerced them to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
In the video, the woman can be heard telling another lady to avoid buying products from the Kashmiri men sitting on a bench, even if you receive orders. She instructed the lady to buy from Hindu sellers instead of the Muslim men even if they offer them for free.

One of the elderly men responds, “Hum bhi Hindustan ke rehne wale hai (We also live in Hindustan),” when the woman interrupts him and asks him to chant “Jai Shri Ram.”
The other man then asks her if she would read the Kalimas; the woman refuses and says that it isn’t her religion. He proceeds to calmly explain to the woman that it was the same for them.
Claiming to be a member of the panchayat, the woman tells them that they cannot come to Himachal. The Kashmiri man then tells her that she can tell them not to come, but she can’t coerce people to chant religious slogans.
“Hum Hindustan ke hai. Agar hum Hindustani nahi hai toh phir kaha jaayenge? Aap keh rahe hai, “Hindustan mein mat aao,” toh hum kaha ke hai? (We are from Hindustan. If we aren’t Hindustanis, then where should we go? You’re saying, ‘Don’t come to Hindustan,” then where are we from?)” he asked.
The woman replies, “Apne Kashmir mein raho (Stay in your Kashmir),” to which the young man asks, “Toh Kashmir kiska hai? Who bhi Hindustan ka hi hain na (Whose is Kashmir? It is part of Hindustan).”
The woman stumbles as she says, “Hai-hoga…hoga… main nahi maanti (It is-maybe…maybe… I don’t believe it).”
She quickly retorts with, “Don’t come to Himachal. The land belongs to Khatter Hindus; you will not be allowed to sell any products here. You’re not allowed here.” the woman said, while asking the cameraperson to keep shooting the video.

According to The Kashmiriyat, the two men had travelled to Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district for business purposes. After the discriminatory and communal behaviour they received, the Kashmiri traders refrained from engaging with the woman and left the venue.

“This is condemnable, we don’t support this lady. In every winters we see Kashmiris selling shawls in north india. They are warmly welcomed to sell any where within India. Its their country as well. This video and attitude of this lady is really saddening,” said an X user.
Several users commended the younger man for standing his ground without losing cool.
Another netizen observed, “They call that Kashmir is part of India and then mistreat Kashmiri Muslims. Later on they will say “why Kashmiri Muslims are against us.”
