A video surfaced online where an Indian man can be seen asking American singer-actor Selena Gomez to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ The unusual request and very uncomfortable-to-watch video soon went viral on social media. And as is the case always, netizens jumped aboard with funny reactions.

A polite Gomez simply replies, “Aww thank you, honey.”
Shared by an Instagram user called Pallav Paliwal, a celebrity and fashion photographer by profession (as per his bio), the Instagram post says, “One of our followers met Selena Gomez and she said ‘Jai Shri Ram‘ on the occasion of Diwali.”
Comments poured in by eagle-eyed netizens who called out the user and pointed out that the video was shot in May and not Diwali. How did they know that? Well, fans of the popstar highlighted that the outfit she wears in the video matches the one she wore at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival which was held in May.
