He openly says that he beat his mother because she accepted ₹5,000 given under a state welfare scheme. He added that he does not want to live on the money provided by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.

“I hit my mother for taking that money, bro. I told her not to accept it. I came here after beating her. I don’t need that money. There is no need for me to live on the money he gives,” the youth said in the viral clip.

The Tamil Nadu government recently transferred ₹5,000 to women beneficiaries under the ‘Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai’ scheme.

The amount included ₹3,000 covering three months of financial assistance (February, March, and April) and an additional ₹2,000 as special summer relief.

According to reports, around 1.31 crore women received the amount directly into their bank accounts. The scheme is aimed at providing financial support to eligible women in the state.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had earlier announced that if the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) returns to power, the financial assistance under the scheme would be doubled.
