Actor Kishore G Says He’d ‘Change The Prime Minister’ If He Could Go Back To 2014: Clip Goes Viral
Actor Kishore G, known for his outspoken views on politics and society, has sparked fresh debate after a clip from a recent interview went viral on social media, with claims that he openly called for changing India’s Prime Minister.
In a February 2026 interview, Kishore responded to a hypothetical question about time travel.
When asked what he would change if he could go back to 2014, the actor said that he would change India’s Prime Minister, adding that he believes the country would have taken a different and better course.
Kishore also asked the interviewer whether his response would be shown publicly if he said this.
According to verified interview reports, Kishore did say that if given a chance to go back in time to 2014, he would change the Prime Minister.
He linked this view to his concerns over what he described as growing negativity, social division, and political polarisation in the country. The actor warned that the current atmosphere feels “dangerous” and criticised leadership for, in his words, treating “hatred as an investment” in politics.
Kishore has consistently argued that fear and division weaken society in the long run and that governance should focus on unity, dialogue, and democratic accountability.
This is not the first time Kishore has spoken critically about the central leadership. In 2023, he questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence during the violence in Manipur, drawing a controversial comparison to Kumbhakarna, the mythological character known for prolonged sleep.
At the time, Kishore said that public representatives have a moral responsibility to speak during moments of national crisis.
Over the years, the actor has repeatedly voiced concern over issues such as shrinking democratic space, intolerance, and the normalisation of hate speech.
