CJP Protesters Flag Unidentified Men In Plainclothes, Police Without Nameplates At Delhi March
New Delhi: CJP (Cockroach Janata Party) protesters at Jantar Mantar alleged that police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel obscured or removed their nameplates. They also claimed that men in casual clothes acted as “goons” to suppress their “peaceful march” demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Notably, viral videos from the protest site and the crackdown show plainclothes men and uniformed personnel without nameplates beating student protesters. Protesters at Jantar Mantar and near Parliament pointed out unidentifiable individuals handling crowd control during the “Chalo Sansad” march. These unidentified security forces were filmed using batons to manage the crowds.

Several protesters shared video of them confronting individuals without uniforms and uniformed officials with nameplates and badges being removed. The protesters have accused the authorities of hiding their identities and calling them imposters.
Protesters and legal experts pointed out that Supreme Court guidelines have mandated that all enforcement personnel should wear clear identification marks and uniforms during such crown control. Otherwise, it would lead to misuse of power and infiltration.

Notably, the Delhi police have maintained that they have handled the situation professionally in accordance with law and order protocols. However, fact-checker and Alt co-founder Zubair shared several videos of Delhi Police personnel in plain clothes and in Uniform with no nameplates “mercilessly beating student protesters.”

The CJP and the youth of the country have been protesting over alleged examination irregularities and expressing support for activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of the education minister.
During yesterday’s protest march and subsequent chaos, clashes occurred, leaving over 118 police personnel injured and resulting in the detention of about 70 protesters.
