Manipur has been experiencing violence since last May as spars between Kuki and Meithei tribes residing over the hilly areas and Imphal valleys of Manipur started turning ugly over ethnic issues. Nearly 150 were reported killed and more than 60,000 people were forced to flee their homes taking shelters in nearby states. Shocking video footage of two women belonging to Kuki-Zomi community striped and paraded naked through the streets by Meithei men outlined how ferocious the ethnic conflict in Manipur had gone.
